I’m in illinois and have a job application asking if I have had a crime sealed or expunged.What should I do?

Asks if this application I have ever had at home, even if if was sealed or expunged, and in finger prints They send to the FBI as part of the background check.

Be truthful. If, and it will, turns up on the background check and you lied, you can be fired and Probably.

deny it. 99 times out of a hundred They Do not check. You are always innocent until proven guilty. They are fishing. Make Them Work for it. UNLESS you want to take the moral route and then you will not get the job, but maybe that’s for a reason.

The link you have an employer must denote That Describes in full records are not expunged That part of the hiring process. But your records are not expunged if-Because They Were You Would Have The records and They Would not be available to anyone-someone Stating That They Will Be off your records in one year-ten years who cares it is still there. If you do not Disclose Disclose the info will check it. If you do not believe me spend $ xxx bucks and see for yourself what a Federal background check entails. Or spend $ 70 and be amazed at what is attainable on a publicly report http://www. Chad. If It Were with me (and I have HAD Several jobs overseas for the Gov’t) I would Disclose it-if it comes up in the interview you can discuss it then.
